  3. Podcast production

Besides producing all the audio for the animal cards in close collaboration with Studio Freek, Albert Heijn, Lumen Loyalty and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), we also produced an 8-part podcast series in which Dutch best-known biologist and adventurer Freek Vonk takes you to the most extraordinary places on earth.

Many animal species and their habitats are threatened. Albert Heijn wants to create awareness about this and take customers into the special animal world and therefore developed the ‘Animals let themselves be heard’ campaign together with Freek Vonk and WWF. Ninety-six animals were selected and all received their own ticket. Through these cards, children and families can learn all kinds of things about them, such as where they live. With the Soundbox, you can also hear what sounds they make. In this way, everyone learns for themselves why it is so important for all animals to survive and how we can all take care of it together.

Freek Vonk: ‘Unfortunately, nature and the animal kingdom are not always listened to properly, even though they are so incredibly important. All animals have something to tell us! With this savings campaign, we want to make children and families throughout the Netherlands aware of the beauty of nature and the importance of taking care of it. Prick up your ears and travel with us through the magical world of nature!’

Podcast ‘Animals make themselves heard’

An important part of the campaign is the accompanying podcast. In 8 episodes, you will join Freek in his search for the funniest, most beautiful and most exciting animal sounds in nature. From singing monkeys in the impenetrable rainforests of Sumatra, to a life-threatening survival champion on the icy wastes of the Arctic to the most extraordinary animals hiding in the rugged landscape of the sweltering Sonora Desert in Mexico. The podcast can be listened to across all listening platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcast and Amazon Music.
